Very Low "Google PageSpeed Insights" Results

Hello, I am experiencing very low results on “Google PageSpeed Insights”. I work for an SEO company and they’re putting a lot of pressure on me about this issue. It seems though that the bb plugin and theme are very heavy even before you add any content … please go to this link and see how this site with zero content performs:

Google sugests to “Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content”

Is this something only you could fix or is there something I can do on my side to improve? Also, please tell me about a CDN solution, maybe that would be a key thing to keep in mind.

This is some insights I got from a Google advisor. Please look at them and let me know.

Make fewer HTTP requests F (8) CONTENT HIGH What's this mean? This page has 16 external Javascript scripts. Try combining them into one.

This page has 12 external stylesheets. Try combining them into one.

That I would relay to your theme developer about, those 2 things should greatly increase your site performance

Hi Carlos,

You’re going to want to use a cache plugin, I would recommend WP Rocket or Autoptimize/WP Super Cache/W3 Total Cache.

Once these are configured it should eliminate most of those issues.

Thanks,
Danny

Thank you for these suggestions! I’ll test these plugins right away. I’m just curious about why “WP Rocket” plugin instead of “WP Super Cache” or “W3 Total Cache”? They seem to do the same. I know "WP Rocket is a premium plugin so I would expect a significant benefit. Please advise.

Again, Thank you for always offer solid support!!!

I am now using “Autoptimize” and conjunction with “WP Super Cache” and desktop version I get great results but on mobile I still get very poor score, the “Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content” is still my main issue, thought “Autoptimize” would eliminate this problem. Please take a look at the site I applied theses rules to:

Hi Carlos,

This usually means you need to move JS to the footer. The Autoptimize plugin doesn’t provide this functionality, I don’t think. You will want to check out this topic for information on how to move all WP JS files to the footer.

Thanks,
Danny

Got to agree with Danny WP Rocket is the way to go. It will get rid of most your issues

Not sure why your company is fretting over this test however, it is well known that it is one of the poorest of all optimization tests. Googles home page fails their own test.

Another plug for WP Rocket - it solved all my slow speed problems
