Video as Featured image

Hi. I’m using Beaver Builder and Themer with Easy Digital Downloads. Videos will be available to download from Amazon S3. My question - has anyone managed to display the video instead of where the featured image normally displays on the Posts Archive page (will be custom built using Themer).
So the user can either view the video, or click into the post to view the full post.

Alternatively, if this has been achieved using Vimeo I would be interested if we could get the embedded video playing instead of the featured image showing…
