Welcome to our Beaver Builder plugin forum!

Thanks Ben, and appologies for clumsy protocol. I just found where the box is to do just that and I’ll use it if/when needed

No worries!

Hi there. My site: www.skyborough.com is “mostly” responsive (all done in Beaver Builder) but the background images do NOT reduce in size. The resulting mobile presentation is visually confusing. The background images on pages are in CELLS and not background images in the theme itself.

David

Hey David,

Thanks for getting in touch! I checked the site on mobile and everything appears to be fine. If you’re referring to how the background images are too large, that’s because they are based on the content you have. On mobile view, the columns stack on top of each other making your content a bit taller. The background will try to cover all of the content’s box. If we’re to resize the background to maintain its aspect ratio, it wouldn’t look good. You can check the link below to see what I mean.

Hope this helps!

Hey Vicki,

Thanks for posting!

  1. The navigation bar is mainly controlled by the theme. If you want an additional one, you're gonna have to hard code it to your theme's files which requires PHP/CSS knowledge. If you want a menu inside the content area, you can use our Menu module instead.
  2. I believe you're referring to the Beaver Builder plugin? If so, no, it doesn't work on the header options as those are controlled by your theme.
  3. Where can you access these templates? Also, we don't really recommend using 2 page builders at once as these usually result in a conflict.

Hi BB’ers,

Question regarding permalink settings:

We have built many pages in BB using the default permalink settings. We now want to change the permalink settings to “Post Name” instead of default.

When I first changed the permalink settings I was getting a “500 Internal Server Error.” I sent this to our IT team and they informed me that “the fallback script was set to /index.html which is not provided by wordpress package, changed to /index.php.”

This fixed the “500” error, but now when I change the permalink settings to “Post Name” I can no longer access the page builder. I can see the content that was built, but clicking the page builder button has no effect.

If I change the permalink settings back to default, the page builder works again.

The end goal is to have “Post Name” permalinks and be able to use the page builder.

Advice?

Thanks,

Eric

Hey Eric,

Sorry to hear about the issues. Generally speaking, caching comes into play more often than not in these situations. If you have a caching plugin installed, go ahead and clear it or even disable it for the time being. From there, re-save your permalinks and then head over to settings > page builder > cache and give the BB cache a clearing. Give it another shot and let me know if that works for you!

Best,
Billy

Hi Billy,

Thanks for the reply. I disabled WP Super Cache, changed the permalinks and cleared the BB cache and browser cache but the problem persists.

I also tried creating a new test page. On creation the page builder works but as soon as the page is saved and the “Post Name” permalink is applied the page builder goes away.

I really appreciate your help on this issue.

Thanks,

Eric

Thanks Eric, would you mind starting a new thread in our forums as opposed to us conversing on this one? I’d like to gain access to your site, but would like to do so in an individual thread if possible. Thanks in advance. Feel free to start the thread with the above and then you can post again as a private reply with site URL and login info.

Best,
Billy

Hey Vicki,

Not really sure about those templates if they’re from VC or your theme. The best method we can do to know is to disable VC and see if that removes the templates. How are you accessing these templates again? Do you mind showing a screenshot? You can upload an image to imgur and paste the link here so we can see.

Re the menu, I’m really sorry but this all depends on your theme. Widget areas are controlled by the theme as well. I’d be able to answer you if I had experience with the theme before. You may want to get in touch with the theme devs instead.

Are you trying to place a SmugMug gallery? You can simply use our Gallery module and choose SmugMug as the source. You need to place the RSS Feed URL of your SmugMug gallery though. More info can be found on the Gallery module Source tooltip.

Hope this helps!

I just purchased Beaver Builder today and I’m just getting started.

I’m trying to add a content slider to my site. I’m using the Content Slider from Advanced Modules. I want the slider to be full width with no white space on either side. Is this something I can accomplish?

Thanks

Hey David,

That should be possible. Simply set your row to full width content and place your content slider there. We’ve set a default margin/padding of 20px on rows and modules though so you’ll want to remove those under the Advanced tab.

Hope this helps!

Ben

That worked. Thanks

I have 2 follow-up questions.

  1. I changed all 4 margins to 0. Now the picture spans the full width of the region, but not the height. The navigation dots at the bottom are below the picture.

  2. I notice that the region ends before the top of the page. This is noticeable when I make my header semi transparent. The region ends about half way up the header and does not go all the way to the top of the page.

Thanks for any advice you can give.

Hey David,

Do you mind sharing the URL of the site so we can take a look?

Ben

Here is the URL:

http://c93.826.myftpupload.com

Thanks

Hey David,

  1. That is where the nav dots should be. There should be an option to remove them.
  2. You have a Separator module on top of the Content Slider module which is what's causing that gray space at the top. Remove that separator and you should be good to go!
