Hi Julie,

I guess you figured out by now how to fix your specific issue :slight_smile:
But as I encountered exactly the same issue and could not find the solution on this site, I thought it made sense to post my fix here. Might come in handy for all future Beaver builder users also on Mac.

Issue: After downloading Beaver builder no .ZIP file available to install via WP. Instead folders with files included.

The issue was for me related to Safari.
Changed the below setting and all downloads are not unpacked by default:
Go to Safari > Preferences > General and uncheck “Open ‘safe’ files after downloading”

Cheers,
Pat

Thanks, Pat. I was having the same issue as Julie. You’re solution fixed my problem!

Try the free program called picpick at http://ngwin.com/picpick.
I use it almost daily. The color picker is fast and super easy. The screen capture tool is also very easy and allows you to capture just a small area also.
A very handy tool that’s free.
Enjoy,
Jon

So when I follow the video on how to plugin the standard BeaverBuilder I keep getting an error
“The uploaded file exceeds the upload_max_filesize directive in php.ini.”
What should I do now?
Thanks

Hey Brecky,

I’ve already replied to your email regarding the same inquiry. Let’s take it there. :slight_smile:

Ben

For BRECKY
The php.ini file is history. PHP now looks for the file .user.ini (as in DOT user DOT ini) THAT file must exist in the root folder of all WP sites or PHP is not happy. It is a text file.

Here is an example of what it “could” look like (these are my settings, you may wish other settings)

.user.ini
max_execution_time = 300
upload_max_filesize = 256M
post_max_size = 256M
memory_limit = 256M

Do NOT create this file in MS Word - it must be TEXT file. Put in ROOT folder of each and all WP Sites.

The php.ini is no longer applicable for newer versions of PHP.
