Woocommerce Product Search in Header/Shortcode

Hi

After getting on great with the BB plugin for a month I’ve upgraded to the theme and getting used to it having used Genesis for the last few years.

I’m working on a Woocommerce site and wanted to put a product search box in the header or top bar. I’m not sure how to create widget areas yet but thought the simple way would be to add the [woocommerce_product_search] shortcode as I saw here https://wpbeaverbuilder.uservoice.com/forums/270594-general/suggestions/6900147-ability-to-add-widgets-or-shortcodes-into-top-ba that shortcodes should work fine.

I’ve tried adding it but the shortcode text appears, not the actual search box (also the same when used in a text widget in the sidebar). So I’d be grateful if you could give any feedback on whether that shortcode should work, or if there is a better way to achieve the product search in the header. I’m using the latest WordPress and Woocommerce versions with all other plugins disabled and tried on two different servers and local dev using both Safari and Chrome.

You’ll need to have the WooCommerce Product Search plugin installed for that shortcode to work. Link for the product below.

Thanks for your help - didn’t realise it was specific to that plugin.

Just for interest - is it easy to add a widget area to the top right of the theme? I’m used to Genesis having a header right widget area, I can create a new widget area but I’m not sure of the hook to get it into the top right.
